November Updates
Chili's Benefit Days
Friday, November 6, November 13 and November 20
Brand new this year! Dine in, carry out or cater through the Chicago Ridge location with the Chili's District 128 coupon and a percentage of the proceeds will be donated back to PFA.
Uno's Benefit Day
Thursday, November 12
Uno's will donate up to 20% of all sales from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. (including dine and carry out) that have District 128 coupons.
Entertainment Books
November 2 - December 4
Every child will bring home one Entertainment Book to sell for $20. The new books are larger than ever and only available through school fundraisers for this price. If you need extra books please contact Jen Landers 597-1123 or Donna Pawlak 389-7435.
Carson's Community Day
Saturday, November 14
You may purchase a Carson's coupon book for $5. The coupons are good on Saturday, November 14 at any Carson's location! Included in it is a $10 off a $10 purchase, a 30% off early bird coupon, and 6 other 20%/15% off coupons! You may purchase through the school offices or contact Kim Kent 489-5074 or Teri Atut 597-0464.
Entertainment Book Fundraiser
This fundraiser will run from November 2 - December 4. We are asking each family to sell one book per child. We do have extra books if you are willing to sell more. The money raised by this fundraiser helps the PFA to fund many programs and activities that would not otherwise be available to your child. In addition to that we offer financial support to each of the four schools when special projects arise--such as Indian Hill's new media center.
There is also the opportunity to sell books to family and friends outside the Chicago area. Please see the insert in the bag regarding other areas' books.
We need your support to make this year successful!! However if you wish to send back the book and not participate, please send back the book in the bag with your child's name. We are not able to accept torn or damaged books.

Wednesday, October 28, PFA is hosting Booingo from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. @ Independence Jr. High School. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Advance ticket sales end October 23. There are limited bingo cards available at the door so reserve your Booingo cards now! Each purchased ticket will receive one bingo card, a bottle of water & popcorn! Adult tickets are $4, childrens tickets are $3 and additional bingo cards are $1 each. Return your order form to school labeled PFA Booingo attention Diane Hoge or Jen Landers.

Parents will have the opportunity to sign up for committees if they wish to become more involved with our district. There will also be a 1154 LILL custom handbag representative on handthis evening. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the PFA.
1154 LILL is a Chicago based company which offers clients the opportunity to design their own unique handbags and accessories.

On January 15th and 16th, 2009, our schools were closed due to the extreme cold weather conditions. Illinois School Code requires 176 days of student attendance, so these days must be made up. Our staff reported to our schools on January 16th for a Teacher Institute and will now forfeit their May 8th Institute day. Friday, May 8th will now become a ½ day of attendance for all students and a ½ day of School Improvement for Staff. Our original calendar also called for one hour of student attendance on June 5th. Friday, June 5th will now become a full day of attendance for K-8th grade students to make-up for January 16th. Students will now need to report on Monday, June 8th for 1 hour for their final day of attendance.

PFA Information Update - February 2009
PFA Board Meeting
All members welcomed. Wednesday Feb 11th @ 6pm at Indian Hill School.
A PFA goal is to assist in achieving the greatest opportunities for the children of D128. The PFA is considering a donation towards educational technology tools for the district as a way to achieve this goal. This months meeting will host a special presentation @6pm from "Smart Technologies". This company sells SMART boards – Interactive Whiteboard Systems for use by educators in classrooms.

D128 School Board Meeting
Open to the public. Wednesday Feb 11th @ 7pm at District Office.
**EVENT UPDATE** 1st D128 Candlelight Bowling Night
Saturday Feb 28th. Centennial Lanes - Tinley Park. 7:30 checkin, buffet dinner@8pm.
$60 per couple includes 3 games(shoes), food and unlimited fun. Cash bar.
Event ticket form is attached and can be printed and returned to school.
PFA is accepting donations for gift basket raffles until Feb 20th.

2009 PFA Discount Cards
On sale Feb 4th thru Feb 27th
The orange cards are a great way to save at area shops and restaurants all year round.

Internet Orders Due: Monday Feb 23 @ NOON

Tuesday Feb 24th 1:00-3:00. (1/2 day) Admission: $5.00 includes skates.
