HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
For a true holiday treat, take some time out this weekend to catch The Nutcracker, performed by our very own students at IJHS!
THE NUTCRACKER will be presented at 7:00p.m. on both Friday, December 7th and Saturday, December8th.
Tickets are $6 for adult and $5 for students. For further information, contact Mrs. Meskiman at IJHS.
More Holiday musical entertainment awaits us at the NAVAJO WINTER CONCERT to be held at 6:30 p.m. on December 11.
Finally, our DISTRICT128 WINTER CONCERT will cap off our holiday musical celebrations. This event, which features both the Navajo and IJHS bands as well as the IJHS chorus will take place on Thursday, December13 at 7:00 p.m.
DECEMBER MARKET DAY INFORMATION:
Market Day Order Forms are due on Friday, December 14th. Internet orders must be placed by Monday, December 17th at noon.
Market Day Pick-up will be held at Navajo School on Thursday, December 20th (This is the last day of school before Christmas Break.)
If you need to arrange for a late pick-up on any prepaid orders, please contact Becky Beilfuss.
THE PFA WOULD LIKE TO THANK SHERRY WEISS AND DEB YERKES FOR THE WONDERFUL EVENING OF PIZZA WITH SANTA.
Thank you also to the IJHS band, who provided the entertainment for the evening, as well as all of the volunteers who helped out.
WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK MARYKAY SPINDLER FOR HER HARD AND INCREDIBLY ORGANIZED WORK PUTTING TOGETHER SANTA'S SECRET SHOP FOR ALL 3 SCHOOLS. The children and especially the faculty were very complimentary of how smoothly this activity was run! Thank you also to all the parents and junior high students who volunteered to help!

BOOINGO SUCCESS!!!

Thank you to everyone in the district for making this year's BOOINGO one of the best ever! We had a huge turnout! Thank you to all of the volunteers, which included staff as well as parents from the district. Thank you to those who helped set up tables and decorations and those who helped by donating prizes. We are so grateful to all of you who helped us to make the evening such a huge success. Special thanks go to the organizational team headed by Becky Beilfuss, you did an unbelievable job!!

WE WANT TO ALSO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK BECKY FOR ANOTHER JOB WELL DONE. As a result of her hard work and endless promoting, Becky enabled our district to achieve our Market Day goal for October and won $4oo dollars worth of Scolastic books for the district. Credit also goes to all of our wonderful families and faculty members, who placed orders this month!!! Thank you so much for all of your support.

MOM'S NIGHT OUT IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER. On Thursday, we will turn our calendar page, and Moms' Night Out will be only a week away. Thursday, November 8, 2007, is District 128 PFA's 3rd Annual Mom's Night Out To be held at Gaelic Park. For those of you who are new to the district, this is a fabulous evening to get together with your "girlfriends" and enjoy some shopping, food, and fun! Many vendors with unique and varied gift ideas are on hand to help us get a jump on those Christmas gifts!!
The evening will include: Raffles, Split the Pot, Appetizers, A Sweet Table, and a Cash Bar. Don't miss another great event sponsored by the PFA.
HURRY TO PURCHASE TICKETS IN ADVANCE ONLY UNTIL NOV. 5TH $10.
TICKET SALES WILL CONTINUE AT THE DOOR FOR$15.

October Update

MARKET DAY EMERGENCY!! WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MARKET DAY ORDERS TO REACH OUR GOAL AND WIN $400 WORTH OF SCHOLASTIC BOOKS.

Tomorrow, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12th, is the last day to send in order sheets for Market Day.It's not too late! We need to have 86 orders and a total of 5200.00 in sales in order to win some awesome new books for our kids. We can do it if every family places an order. Even if you are not a regular customer, give Market Day a try this month. Becky Beilfuss is even willing to take orders over the phone if you are unable to return the order form in time. Refer to the Calendar for her number.

For those ordering via the internet, you have until Noon on Monday, October 15.

Pick up is on Thursday, Oct.18 from 5:15-6:00 p.m.

We are also in need of a few more volunteers on pick-up day. If you can help, please contact Becky.


MISSING: CANDY MONEY!!!

There are a few families out there who have not yet turned in their candy money for the World's Finest Chocolate bars. If you have not turned in your money or returned the unopened box of candy bars, please do so as soon as possible! We are doing much better this year and are hoping for a 100% return.

FUNDRAISING NEWS AND OPPORTUNITIES
We are looking for 1 0r 2 new people to head our fundraising committee for next year. This is a well-established committee that provides not only a great opportunity to get involved with the PFA, but also gives back so much to our children. Please consider the possibility of teaming up with a friend or neighbor to continue some of our fantastic fundraising programs. Please feel free to contact Terri Mackenas or Jen Landers (numbers can be found on the back of the calendar) to get more information as to what's involved.

Mom's Night Out preparation is also beginning with tonight's 7pm meeting at Chippewa (sorry about the late notice). If you can't be there we would still love your help-CALL US!!
We are accepting registration for all vendors living in our school district. On Oct 1st, registration will open to everyone. Please contact Terri Mackenas ASAP.

I am so sorry to be late with Market Day info this month. Pick-up is tomorrow, September 20th if you placed a September order. 5-6 at Navajo School. We can arrange for late pick-up for any prepaid orders. Also, staff orders will be stored in our Market Day freezers for the next day.

Some families have asked to pay for all of the fundraisers at the beginning of the year. We are offering a buyout program for the 2 fundraisers that we ask every family to participate in each year-World's Finest Chocolate Sale and Discount cards. If you wish to send in a check no later than Friday, August 24th, for $35, you will not receive a box of candy next week to sell and you will receive your 2 prepaid discount cards in February.

Thank You

On behalf of the PFA Executive Board, thank you to all the wonderful parents and family members, our superintendent, principals, teachers and staff who helped make this another successful year for the PFA. We had a great year! We look forward to seeing you and meeting new families in the Fall. Best wishes for a relaxing summer.
